« Be careful with iTunes update

If you have not updated iTunes to 12.8.1, it might be best to wait. We are getting calls from people who have done this (it is current now) and discovered afterwards that Safari had been broken. Seems to affect Mac OS X 10.10.5 users. Just wait... Apple will likely reissue this with a fix in it. Correcting it after the fact will be painful / expensive.


UPDATE:  According to Macintouch, Apple pulled the originally posted update for the reasons we gave; they fixed it and a couple of days later quietly reposted it. The current version you can access no longer blows up Safari. As in all things, be cautious...
